About The Chef
Small in stature but big in flavor, in both her cooking and her personality, Candra Fiedler made a major life decision a few years ago – she was going to do something she actually enjoys for a living. She left financial services and enrolled in the French Culinary Institute in New York City. Upon finishing her culinary training, Candra knew she was going to do one of two things: become a personal chef or co-host No Reservations. And when Anthony Bourdain didn’t call Candra personally on graduation day asking her to join the show – a total shock – the decision was made for her.
Before building her personal business, Candra honed her skills working with numerous Manhattan caterers, specializing in both everyday, uncomplicated cooking and haute cuisine. Now, leaving behind a dedicated clientele in New York, she has come to Miami in search of warmer winters, sunnier skies and vibrant flavors. She uses seasonal ingredients as much as possible and enjoys her weekly trips to the freshmarket. Endlessly curious, Candra is always experimenting with different taste combinations and ethnic cuisines, as well as working to perfect the classics she has been cooking for her friends and family through the years.
